HOW TO PLAY LIVE ROULETTE

The rules are the same as online roulette, but you will also find exciting variants with slightly different gameplay and payouts.

As ever, we recommend you check out the game rules of each table when you join before you play.

When you are seated at a table, you will see the table and your betting options presented. The dealer will ask you to place your bets before they start the game.

You can bet on individual numbers, groups of numbers, red or black, odd or even, or other special bets.

The dealer will announce ‘no more bets’. Then they will spin the wheel and release the ball. When the ball settles in a pocket, you are paid out if you are a winner.

For example, you bet on black, and the ball lands in a black pocket – you win. You bet on number 7, and it lands in the number 7 pocket – you win.

Roulette really is that simple. Just bet on where you think the ball will land!

WHAT ARE LIVE ROULETTE ODDS AND PAYOUTS?

The two most common versions are French roulette (often referred to as standard roulette) and the American equivalent.

French roulette tables have one green zero, and American tables have two green zeros. This doesn’t change the payouts, though.

The most popular bet payouts are as follows:

Red or Black – 1/1

Odds or Even – 1/1

Individual numbers – 35/1

Column (covering 12 numbers) – 2/1

2 number combination – 17/1

3 number combination – 11/1

4 number combination – 8/1

More bets are available when you are seated. These are combination bets, covering different selections or grouping of numbers.

These are often referred to in their French names, like Final en Plain and Finales a Cheval. That may sound complicated, but we promise it isn’t!

When you hover over a bet, it will typically light up the numbers that correspond to the bet, making it really simple.

And inside the game rules of every game, you will see complete bets and payouts explained.

The casino gets its edge on the game from the green number 0 in French roulette and the two 0s in American roulette, which isn’t factored into the payout odds.

For example, betting on an individual number should pay 36/1 rather than 35/1.

Unlike live blackjack, for example, roulette is a game of luck with no skill involved! For centuries gamblers and mathematicians have tried to develop a winning strategy, and you will see many resources and systems online.

The truth is somewhat more boring, though! As a game of chance, you can do nothing to improve or lessen your chances of winning.

Roulette tables will show a sequence of the last numbers that have come up, but they should be regarded as information only.

As with live baccarat, past results at the table have no bearing on future ones!
